Should we create social mixed residential areas?
Nowadays it's not uncommon to see areas where the social inequality becomes as clear as crystal. Places like Morumbi and Paraisopolis, only divided by a wall. But it's not just a physical barrier, it represents the huge disparity between the layers of society in Brazil. Thinking on that, should mixed residential areas be built, mixing rich and poor people in the same place? Would this project solve the major problem? How is it going to work in practice? First of all, we should think of how this is actually going to happen. If we want to mix them, should consider how much a poor family can spend in a house, and how little a rich person is willing to pay for it, giving up a lot of his luxury for that. An affordable house for a poor person is definitely not attractive for a person who has his own collection of cars in a garage probably bigger than the affordable house itself.
