Should we create social mixed residential areas?

Nowadays it's not uncommon to see areas where  the social  inequality becomes as clear as crystal. Places like Morumbi and Paraisopolis, only divided by a wall. But it's not just a physical barrier, it represents the huge disparity between the layers of society in Brazil. Thinking on  that, should mixed residential areas be built, mixing rich and poor people in the same place? Would this project solve the major problem? How is it going to work in practice? First of all, we should think of how this is actually going to happen. If we want to mix them, should  consider how much a poor family can spend in a house, and how little a rich person is willing to pay for it, giving up a lot of his luxury for that. An affordable house for a poor person is definitely not attractive for a person who has his own collection of cars in a garage probably bigger than the affordable house itself. Another point, is that exists, by far, a larger number ...

Should we create more socially mixed residential areas, where rich people live next to poorer people, instead of in separate communities?

Before we answer this question, we first have to inquire into the poorer people’s conditions for example where they live and whether there are basic sanitation, formal jobs, policing, etc. By and large, creating more socially mixed residential areas seems to be a good intention. However, it will probably have problems on different levels such as a bigger social inequality or perhaps the growth of theft. In my view, we were not supposed to think about this by now. Our society has many differences that it does not know how to respect and if we did a research, we would see not just how poorer people fit in this society but also the lack of investments in education, cultural activities, health, etc. this is perceptible because of the richer people who have more infrastructure generally. Indeed, we often do not feel the necessity to make this different and we can see it frequently in our streets where there are homeless people who are careless when we have a child who has a better educ...

Should we create more socially mixed residential area where rich people live next to poor people instead of in separate communities?

In practice this a complex question to answer, because can be considered a sensitive theme, where we will probably find some groups that could be in favor or not, with mixed social classes. Historically, we saw a division on society, where one side we have a small part of the population being rich, in the other hand a big group in poor or misery. Over the years, this process helped to determine which social group could or not do something. All this inequality on the world   , increased a number of people without principles or respect for other. Where the principal factor to guide the destiny of someone is the capital goods that they had. To my mind, we will  develop a better world with equality, when we are able to break down all barriers. For start this, we should create a socially mixed residential areas, so people could live near each other. But, it will happen when everyone receive    the s...

Should we create more socially mixed residential areas, where rich people live next to poorer people, instead of in separate communities?

First of all, we must first examine whether the people will accept this suggestion, pros and cons is a good way to start. To make that we can ask some questions for ourselves, such as, will they feel comfortable to stay next to each other? Will the crime rate increase? Will they adapt to this new system? These are some questions that we have to answer first, before making bad decisions. In my opinion, people from different social classes can live together in perfect harmony between them. However, before that, they should lay down some rules, just to have peace and quiet. So let us assume that you are the poor person, would you like to be treated like the rich people treat the poor people in this day and age? Would you like to get a chance? We have to understand that some of them put their heart and soul to get a better live for their family. Admittedly, I know that some people do not enjoy being around some poor people, because they think that they will steal their belonging...

Should we create more socially mixed residential areas where rich people live next poorer people?

We, we should, but the thing is: how could we do that? In my opinion, in this day and age, it’s impossible. And it happens because we are living in a capitalist country, where the differences are in evidence and everyone needs to have more money, clothes, jewels and shoes than the other one. And for this reason, social inequality is increasing.      One fact about it is that one-quarter of American workers make less than $10 per hour. That creates an income below the federal poverty level. They include cashiers, fast food workers, and nurses aides.     These aspects are terrible to the poor people, the rich ones, the environment, the kids and to the entire world. I’m not criticizing the capitalism in its forms, but I’m sure that everyone already listened to the sentence: “everything in excess is bad”. This is exactly what I want to tell.    Research shows that between 1979 and 2007, household income increased 275 percent f...

Should we create more socially mixed residential areas, where rich people live next to poorer people, instead of in separate communities?

First of all, it would depend on region and country you wanted  to create more socially mixed residential areas, due to background culture and education of each region or country, however it would be  extremelly important that the people that  live in mixed communities,  they must to have maturity and respect each other to live together. I believe that this project would be perfect to define the elevated pattern of education, cultural diversity  and growth of society. In order to establish the rules of this project, I think that would be necessary to select all people to live in this residential, understanding  your motivations, preferences and tolerance to live together in society with so diversity, thus  it would be necessary to choose people that  having   multicultural customs, having abilities to live together with people that think  differently  and respect the differences between them. I have to say that this pr...
